How Dreambaby Bruges evolved into a store where customers truly feel at ease

From a functional space to a warm retail experience focused on comfort, clarity and trust

  Reading time: 3 minutes

Does your store feel more practical than inviting? Then this situation might sound familiar. Everything is in place and works, but the space lacks atmosphere and calm.

That was exactly the challenge in Bruges.

Dreambaby wanted to move away from a warehouse feeling and focus on experience. Their goal was to create a store where young parents feel welcome and can make decisions at ease.

As Lowie Vanhalst explains: “There’s a lot to consider for new parents, so we want to welcome them in a warm environment.”

The approach: collaboration and translating ideas into reality

For this project, we worked closely with the Dreambaby team, their architect and marketing department.

The store concept was already defined. Our role was to bring that concept to life in a practical and consistent way. We kept communication short and efficient, allowing us to adjust quickly when needed.

As our key account project manager Samuel-Thomas Theys explains: “We looked for solutions that perfectly matched the existing concept, in close collaboration with the architect and marketing team.”

Execution: a full transformation without closing the store

The timeline was tight. We handled the complete dismantling and rebuilding of the store while it remained open to customers. This required careful planning and flexibility. Our teams worked outside opening hours to minimize disruption.

As the client put it: “We absolutely didn’t want to close during the renovation. A baby registry can’t wait.”

The solution: smart choices that work together

The transformation came from a combination of well-thought-out decisions:

  • Lower shelving for better visibility
  • A clearer and more logical store layout
  • Warm materials for a softer atmosphere
  • Illuminated visuals to guide customers
  • Digital screens and touchpoints for extra information

We also created a central area where customers can calmly discuss their baby registry.

The result: a store that builds trust

The new store does more than display products. It creates a calm and welcoming environment where customers feel valued and take their time.

As Lowie Vanhalst summarizes: “The store shows that we truly care about our customers.”

Customers move more comfortably through the store, stay longer and ask more focused questions.

What does this mean for your store?

You might recognize this situation: your store works, but you feel there is more potential.

Then the key question is: where does it fall short today?

  • Is the layout too crowded?
  • Do customers struggle to find their way?
  • Is the experience lacking?
